Sensei David Wilson

5th Dan

I started karate with my daughters after watching them for a couple of lessons and thought while I'm here I will give it a go, turns out I rather enjoyed it. I had had previous experience with coaching sports and soon turned my talent to karate coaching, which has lead to me training several students to International level.

My Story

Senior Instructor

Sensei David has been coaching for over 30 years making him our Senior Instructor.

Throughout the years he has worked tirelessly on his students to push them to achieve their goals and dreams, he was inspired when he travelled out to Japan in 2005 for the World Championships and saw what needed to change in this country for students to achieve the ultimate goal. He went again to Japan in 2010 where his efforts paid off, coaching the first female in England to win the World Championships. Between 2004 to now he has trained 1 World Champion, 34 European Champions in both Kata & Kumite, 16 European Silver medalists, 15 European Bronze medalist and 1 Japanese Bronze medalist.

After much encouragement by his students and karate friends he entered the BKF (British Karate Federation) International Open Championships in the Veterans Male Pairs Kata category and won in 2018 & 2019.

Sensei David now volunteers with teaching at WadoKai Worcester on a weekly basis and is the Worcester Karate Squad Kata coach.
