As we approach the end of the year, we can't help but look back on the remarkable journey of the Worcestershire karate squad. The final competition at the East Midlands Open, RAF Cranwell, served not just as a test of skill, but also as a powerful demonstration of the unity that has grown among our talented group of karatekas. With a total of 30 medals—comprised of 7 gold, 9 silver, and 14 bronze—our squad of 17 athletes has truly ended the year on a high note. However, what fills our hearts with the most pride is the unwavering support and spirit of sportsmanship that we witnessed throughout this season.
The past year has been filled with both challenges and victories, pushing our athletes to their limits and fostering growth in both technique and character. Each competition became not only a chance to achieve personal bests but also an opportunity to strengthen our bonds as a unified karate family.

The Spirit of Sportsmanship
While accumulating medals is an important milestone, the true essence of success lies in how our athletes conduct themselves during competitions. The unity within the Worcestershire karate squad has flourished this year. We are not merely a group of individuals training together; we have become a family, united by shared goals and experiences. Fierce competitions have transformed these athletes into a strong unit, demonstrating that collaboration enhances our chances of success.
The spirit of sportsmanship flourished at every event. For instance, at this particular event. The senior teams category was delayed for 3 hours. Not a single member of the team left. Every one stayed to the end to cheer on our girls! The older ones looking after the younger members and younger members cheering eachother on or up despite their own loses. A truely special team and something we have always wanted to achieve.
